Experience the magic of Victoria Falls before exploring the two Zambian safari classics.
Victoria Falls • Lower Zambezi • South LuangwaBegin this trip in the "Adventure Capital of Africa". Whether you're interested in one of the many adrenaline busting activities or simply enjoying the grandeur, Victoria Falls will surely blow your mind!
This trip will then take you to two of the more popular national parks in Zambia. You will be treated to a phenomenal game viewing experience over several morning and evening/night drives in both the parks. If you're in the right season, walking safari in South Luangwa and canoe safari in Lower Zambezi are an absolute must.
Upon arrival at the Livingstone airport, you will be received and transfered to your hotel. Depending on your time of arrival, you could spend the rest of the day relaxing or be on your way for some serious fun.
Your trip begins in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park where the mighty Victoria Falls is located. Enjoy spectacular sights and the grandeur of the falls aptly called "Mosi-oa-Tunya" in the local language which means "The smoke that thunders". Take a microlight flight or a heli ride to get an aerial view, hike around the falls, explore the national park, bungee jump from the Victoria bridge, take a dip in the Devil's Pool, go white water rafting, enjoy a canoe trip to marvel the canyon wonderland - whatever your interests are, be assured there is no dearth of options here.
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll head to the airport to board a light aircraft and be on your way to the Jeki airstrip. It's a short flight about an hour and you'll fly over the Zambezi river getting spectacular views of the confluence and the escarpment. From the Jeki airstrip, you'll travel by road to your camp and reach in time for a sumptuous lunch.
The lodges well placed on the banks of the mighty Zambezi offer a spectacular opportunity for a wide range of activities both on land and water. Glide down the Zambezi by boat, spotting elephants and tiger fishing to your heart’s content. Sit in a canoe and watch the herds of elephants that come to drink, hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, and a variety of birds that call this place their home. Enjoy the spectacular landscape with ebony and fig trees and further inland is a floodplain fringed with mopane forest and interspersed with winterthorn trees and huge acacias. The evening game drives are particularly rewarding with the park hosting good populations of lion and leopard.
After your breakfast at Lower Zambezi, you will be taken to the Jeki airstrip to board a light aircraft to Mfuwe. The flight is an hour and thirty minutes and you'll fly over the green carpet that covers this part of Zambia with some spectacular views. From the Mfuwe airport, you'll travel by road to your camp and reach in time for a sumptuous lunch.
The home of the walking safari, rustic bush camps and incredible guides. Situated along the great Luangwa River, the South Luangwa National Park is one of the best game viewing areas in Zambia, if not Africa. This area's reputation for abundant wildlife and unspoiled vegetation is well earned. The morning and evening/night game drives will give you ample opportunities to explore the bush and have fantastic sightings. Make sure to swap a game drive for a walking safari one of the days.
On the last day, after your breakfast, you will be taken to the Mfuwe airport for your connecting flight. It's time to say goodbye as you board your return flight.
